The wife of Game of Thrones actor Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson has answered a question many people have been wondering about.
Björnsson, often called “Thor,” is best known for playing Gregor Clegane, also known as “The Mountain,” in the hit TV series.
He has also appeared in The Northman, Operation Ragnarok, and Pharaoh’s War.
Standing at 6 feet 9 inches tall, Björnsson has an impressive height. But instead of dating someone closer to his height, he married someone much shorter.
His wife, Kelsey Henson, is 5 feet 2 inches tall.
With such a big height difference, many people have asked how the couple manages to kiss. Henson responded, “Ah, he bends, I tiptoe. Or just say screw it, pick me up!”
Fair enough.
The couple got married in October 2018. Björnsson shared a photo from their wedding, where he easily lifted his bride.
Along with the picture, he wrote, “It is with great pleasure that I now get to call Kelsey Morgan Henson my wife!
“I get to hold this beautiful woman through thick and thin for the rest of our lives! I’m so excited for all of the future adventures we will tackle side by side.”
But the couple has also faced difficult times.
In November 2023, they suffered the loss of their daughter, Grace.
Henson was 21 and a half weeks pregnant when their baby was stillborn.
Björnsson shared the news on Instagram, saying they noticed a decrease in movement before learning their baby’s heart had stopped.
“Words cannot describe our pain of this loss or our happiness at being able to spend time with our daughter,” he wrote.
“She is absolutely beautiful, with blonde lashes and brows and a little smile for mom and dad.
“The love we feel for her is overwhelming. The grief we feel will be with us forever, but so will the love.”
Grace was their second child. The couple also has a three-year-old son named Stormur.
Björnsson also has a daughter, Theresa Líf, from a previous relationship.
