A private investigator has shared insights on the “sudden” changes in behavior that could suggest your partner is cheating. Investigators often deal with cases where people suspect their partners of infidelity, so they know what signs to watch for.

One common place people cheat is in their cars. Private investigator Raymond Ranno points out that if a man starts washing his car during the day, it might be a sign he’s meeting someone after. Other investigators have also discussed ways cheaters might hide evidence of their actions.
Daniel Anderson, another private investigator, spoke about a “sudden” change in behavior that could be a red flag. He often gets hired by men and women to check if their partner is cheating, with women hiring him more frequently. He advises his clients to “hope for the best and prepare for the worst.”

Anderson explained that, in most cases, when someone suspects cheating, “there’s a valid reason” for their concerns. Common signs include secretive behavior with phones, a change in intimacy, last-minute plan changes, or running straight to the shower when they get home.
The investigator also mentioned a “very sudden” sign to watch for. If your partner suddenly starts a new activity and makes it part of their routine, it could be a cause for concern. If they begin repeating this new activity regularly, it might be a cover for meeting someone else.

While having personal hobbies is healthy, a sudden change in routine when you’re already feeling suspicious can be a bad sign. If your partner starts repeating a new activity out of nowhere, it might be their way of hiding something.
So, if you notice these sudden changes, it could be time to take a closer look.
