Expanding a family is always a special experience, especially when both parents are on the same page and excited about it.
Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, have been growing their family since they got married in 2012.
The couple met in 2011 and tied the knot the following year. They didn’t wait long to have children, welcoming their first baby in 2013. Over time, they had five more children together, including one through surrogacy.
In April 2021, they shared big news—they were expecting their seventh child. Fans were thrilled for them as they continued to expand their family.
Hilaria took to Instagram to share her excitement when their daughter arrived. She posted photos and videos, writing: “She’s here! We are so excited to introduce you to our tiny dream come true, Ilaria Catalina Irena.”
This baby was Alec’s eighth child overall, but his seventh with Hilaria. He also has an older daughter, Ireland Baldwin, from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger.
In her post, Hilaria revealed that their daughter was born on September 22, 2022, weighing 6 lbs. and 13 ounces. She reassured fans that both she and the baby were doing well, writing, “Both she and I are happy and healthy.”
She later posted about how excited their other children were to meet their new sibling, writing: “Her Baldwinito siblings are spending the day bonding and welcoming her into our home.”
Alec and Hilaria also shared a birth announcement through People Magazine, stating: “How grateful we feel to welcome our newest little daughter into this world. Just as magical and filled with love as every other little person we have been blessed with.”
However, not everyone was happy about their growing family. Hilaria mentioned in another post that some people questioned why they chose to have so many children. She responded, “All jokes aside, however, I am grateful for this experience.”
The baby’s name also sparked discussions online. Some questioned Hilaria’s choice of a Spanish-sounding name, given past controversy over her background. Others pointed out that Ilaria means ‘Hilary’ in Italian and translates to ‘cheerful’—a common name in Italy.
Despite the opinions of others, Alec and Hilaria continue to enjoy their growing family, celebrating each new addition with love.
