Tash Evans, a 21-year-old from Manchester, decided to get her lips tattooed on January 18. The procedure, known as lip blushing, involves injecting pigment into the lips to enhance their color. Tash wanted this treatment because she felt her lips looked uneven after getting fillers in the past.

The tattooing process took about one and a half hours, and everything seemed fine at first. However, things quickly changed.

As soon as the procedure started, her lips began to swell. By the time it was finished, she barely recognized herself in the mirror. Her lips had swollen five times their normal size.

“I had a jump scare when I looked at myself,” Tash said. “They started swelling right away, and by the end, they looked unrecognizable.”

Shocked by her appearance, she compared herself to Fungus, a character from “Monsters Inc.” Her mother also reacted strongly, calling her appearance ‘ugly.’ Even her boyfriend was surprised and couldn’t help but laugh before closing the door on her.

“When they’re numbed, they feel swollen anyway, so I didn’t realize how bad it was,” she said. Tash had done fillers before without problems, but tattooing was a different experience.

For two days, the swelling made her self-conscious about leaving the house. She wore a mask to cover her lips and was glad she had taken the day off work. She expected the swelling to go down by the evening, but it lasted longer than expected.

She shared her experience on TikTok, where it went viral with over 1.2 million views. Many viewers commented, with some suggesting it was an allergic reaction. Some people were supportive, while others made jokes.

Despite everything, Tash laughed it off. “It was worth it for the laugh,” she said, adding that she wasn’t in pain. She found humor in the situation and moved on.
