Woman dyes her Great Pyreneese dog bright red so he won’t get stolen

Many dog owners worry about their pets being stolen, especially if they have a rare or expensive breed. Thieves often target these dogs, and one woman’s unusual way of protecting her dog has sparked a big debate online. Some people think it’s a smart idea, while others question her reasons.

Chloe owns a 2-year-old Great Pyrenees named Dandy, and he stands out from other dogs because of his bright red fur. Chloe dyed him using pet-safe, vegan dye, which immediately caught attention on TikTok.

Some people were concerned about the dog’s health, leaving comments like “poor dog”, while others loved his unique look. Many even compared him to Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Chloe responded to the comments by explaining her reasons for dyeing Dandy. She said one reason was to make him less likely to be stolen since Great Pyrenees dogs are rare in her area.

She also said Dandy seems to enjoy the attention because he loves people and kids. The bright color makes him more approachable, which she believes is a positive thing.

Chloe also wanted to teach others about safe pet dyeing. She made videos showing her process and the products she uses, encouraging others to do the same if they choose to.

Dandy’s TikTok account has over 10 million likes and 318,000 followers, but not everyone agrees with Chloe’s choice. Some doubt that the color would stop thieves and think it’s just for online attention.

Supporters, on the other hand, point out that Dandy is well-cared for and doesn’t know what color he is. They believe Chloe has the right to dye her dog as long as it’s safe and humane.

Dandy’s TikTok has been inactive since February, and his Instagram last showed him back to his natural fur color in July. Chloe hinted that he would be red again soon, but many followers prefer his natural look and asked her not to re-dye him.
