Marina Smith, a 34-year-old influencer from São Paulo, Brazil, says her friends are worried she might “tempt” their partners during Christmas celebrations. This concern has led to her being excluded from the holiday gathering.
She first learned about the situation from a friend’s boyfriend, who told her she was deliberately left out of a WhatsApp group about the event. Speaking to MailOnline, Marina, a former Miss BumBum winner, said, “I’ve been banned from Christmas dinner because the women think I’ll steal their men. They’re worried I might tempt their husbands and boyfriends.”
Marina has been single since early 2024, ending her last relationship over financial disagreements. Despite the challenges of being single, she insists she’s not in a rush to find a partner. “I’m very selective about the men I get involved with. I’m not needy, and I’m not desperate for a relationship,” she explained.
The exclusion has left Marina feeling hurt and betrayed. “Being single already limits my outings and trips with friends because they go out with their partners now,” she said. “But now, me being single and beautiful is an insecurity for them!”
Marina believes jealousy is the reason behind her exclusion. “I always respect other people’s relationships. I’ve never made advances toward their partners,” she said. “I think it’s jealousy on their part.”
The influencer plans to confront her friends about their actions, but she has no intention of accepting an invitation if they change their minds. “At this point, I’d rather spend Christmas alone at home. Yes, I’m a beautiful woman, but that’s not a reason to leave me out,” she declared.
Marina also defended her choices in outfits and makeup, adding that the problem lies with others’ perceptions of her. “The issue isn’t me. It’s the men who think I’m ‘too beautiful to be real,’” she said.
While the situation has hurt her feelings, Marina says it has helped her realize who her true friends are.
