Zelensky posted on X, seemingly in a sarcastic tone, thanking America multiple times. “Thank you, America. Thank you for your support. Thank you for this visit. Thank you @POTUS, Congress, and the American people,” he wrote. He also stressed that Ukraine is working toward a “just and lasting peace.”

This came after a heated discussion where Zelensky was criticized for not showing enough respect to Trump during their meeting. The argument led to him being asked to leave the White House. European leaders have since shared messages of support for Zelensky, which he retweeted.
During the meeting, Vance confronted Zelensky, saying it was disrespectful to argue in front of American media. Zelensky had interrupted Trump multiple times, disputing his remarks about the war. A source familiar with the meeting told DailyMail.com that officials in the room were caught off guard by Zelensky’s behavior.

Vance also pointed out that Biden had taken a tough stance for years, yet Putin still invaded Ukraine. “The path to peace is through diplomacy,” he said. Zelensky responded by reminding everyone that Russia had occupied parts of Ukraine since 2014, breaking a ceasefire.
Trump became frustrated and told Zelensky, “This country has supported you more than many think it should. You need to be thankful.” He added that Ukraine was losing soldiers and running low on resources, so making a deal was necessary.

After the meeting, Trump posted on Truth Social, saying Zelensky was “not ready for peace if America is involved.” He stated that Zelensky could return “when he is ready for peace.”

Meanwhile, Trump also met with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron. Starmer urged Trump to support a security plan for Ukraine, warning that failure to do so could allow Putin to attack again. While Trump appreciated Starmer’s efforts, no firm commitments were made.
