Last week, the 24-year-old singer unexpectedly walked on stage at West Edmonton Mall while a young singer, Sydney Bourbeau, was performing one of his songs.
Sydney, only 13 years old, was singing “Thinking Out Loud” when Ed joined her for a special duet. She was clearly surprised but managed to keep singing. The crowd cheered as they watched the heartwarming moment unfold. No one, not even the event organizers, knew Ed was going to show up.
As they finished the song, Ed hugged his excited fan before quickly leaving the stage. Sydney later said in an interview that she didn’t know if she should stop singing or talk to him. She called it the best moment of her life.
The surprise didn’t end there. Later that day, Ed’s manager texted Sydney with an even bigger gift—two tickets to his concert at Rexall Place on Sunday night.
Ed, who is friends with stars like Taylor Swift and Ellie Goulding, is currently on tour in Canada and the USA. But this isn’t the first time he has surprised fans.
