Taylor Swift’s fans recently shared their sadness after a photo of her leaving the bathroom with her bodyguard went viral.
The 35-year-old singer was at the Super Bowl last week to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Unfortunately for Kelce and his team, the Chiefs lost 40-22 to the Philadelphia Eagles. Things didn’t go smoothly for Taylor either—when she appeared on the stadium’s jumbotron, the crowd booed her.
But it was a behind-the-scenes photo that truly caught fans’ attention. The image showed Taylor walking out of the bathroom with her bodyguard right behind her.
The picture spread quickly online, with fans expressing sadness that she can’t even go to the bathroom alone.
A fan shared the image on Twitter, writing: “The fact that Drew [Taylor’s security guard] has to go to the bathroom with her.”
Many responded, saying it was upsetting that she needs protection at all times. One fan commented: “I know. How sad is that? We all love Drew, but the fact he has to stand outside her stall.”
Others pointed out how uncomfortable the situation must be. “It’s the fact that people are waiting outside the bathroom for a picture??? That’s such weird behavior,” one person wrote.
Some also argued that this photo proves why Taylor needs security. Another fan said: “The fact this photo was taken just shows why she has to have security everywhere.”
At the same time, some thought extra security made sense at the Super Bowl. Since Taylor was already booed by the crowd, it was better for her to have protection.
Some believe the booing may be linked to past comments Swift made about the Eagles.
During her 2023 Eras Tour stop in Philadelphia, she addressed a debate over whether the lyrics in her song Gold Rush were about the football team or the band.
She clarified: “I love the band the Eagles. But guys, come on. I’m from Philly. Of course, it’s the team.”
Now that she supports the Chiefs, some Eagles fans may not be happy about the switch.
