Star Wars Reveals The First Transgender Stormtrooper

There’s big news in the Star Wars universe, and not everyone is happy about it. While millions of fans are always excited about new Star Wars content, this latest update has taken many by surprise.

A new book, “Star Wars: The Secrets of the Clone Troopers,” has introduced a new character to the franchise. The character, named Sister, is the first transgender stormtrooper in Star Wars history.

The reveal came from Star Wars Holocron on X. They shared a description from the book that explains how Sister got her name. “When one of our kind expressed her gender identity differently than her fellow troopers, she thought she’d have to hide who she truly was inside. Fortunately, her brothers in the 7th Sky Corps gave her the name Sister as a constant reminder that she belonged.”

This isn’t the first time Sister has appeared in Star Wars stories. She was also featured in the 2020 book “Queen’s Hope.” In that story, she served in the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. She worked alongside Anakin Skywalker (before he became Darth Vader) and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

This character introduction comes more than a decade after Disney purchased Star Wars from its original creator, George Lucas, in 2012. Over the years, Disney has expanded the franchise in many ways, adding new characters and storylines.

Now, with the addition of a transgender stormtrooper, debates have sparked online. Many Star Wars fans have shared strong opinions about the decision.

Some have welcomed the change, seeing it as a step toward making Star Wars more inclusive. Others, however, argue that this addition does not fit within the world of Star Wars, which is set in a galaxy far, far away.

The conversation continues across social media, with fans divided on the issue. While some support the decision, others question whether changes like this are necessary in a long-established franchise.

For now, Sister is officially part of the Star Wars universe, and fans will have to decide how they feel about it.
