It all started as a regular day. My husband, Ethan, had a big presentation at work, and I wanted to make sure everything was perfect for him. I cooked his favorite pasta, ironed his clothes, and sent him off with a kiss, wishing him good luck.
But just a few hours later, my world turned upside down.
The Forgotten Laptop
As I was cleaning up, I noticed Ethan’s laptop on the dining table. Panic set in—his presentation was on that laptop. Without it, he couldn’t do the presentation he’d worked so hard on.
I quickly grabbed it and rushed to the hotel where his event was happening, hoping to save the day.
A Strange Discovery
When I arrived at the hotel, I expected a lively corporate event. Instead, the lobby was quiet. Confused, I asked the receptionist about Ethan’s event. She frowned and told me there wasn’t any event happening that day.
I felt uneasy and asked if Ethan had a room booked. She checked her system and confirmed he did. My stomach dropped.
The Heartbreaking Scene
I went up to the room floor. As I walked down the hallway, I heard laughter. My heart was pounding. I turned the corner, and that’s when I saw them.
Ethan and my best friend, Olivia, were holding hands and laughing as they entered the room together. They didn’t see me. I stood there in shock, my heart breaking into pieces.
The Plan for Revenge
I left the hotel and sat in my car for a while, trying to calm down. Tears streamed down my face, but soon, anger replaced my sadness. If they thought they could betray me like this, they were wrong.
I went back to the receptionist, who kindly agreed to help me. With her assistance, I upgraded Ethan’s room to a fancy suite. This meant they’d have to leave their current room.
Once they left, I sneaked into the original room. On the bed, I left a photo I had taken of them together and wrote a note:
“Surprise! Enjoy your stay. – The Wife”
Making the Truth Public
It didn’t stop there. I used Ethan’s laptop and found his office email contacts. I sent the photo of him and Olivia to his coworkers with the subject line: “Caught in the Act.”
As a final touch, I arranged for the hotel to deliver a bottle of champagne to their suite with a card that said:
“Congratulations on being terrible people!”
The Aftermath
When Ethan and Olivia saw the email and the photo, all hell broke loose. Ethan kept calling and texting me, begging to talk, but I ignored him. Olivia tried too, but I blocked her immediately.
Ethan’s coworkers lost all respect for him, and word about his affair spread quickly. Olivia, who had been part of our friend group, was completely cut off by everyone.
Starting Fresh
I filed for divorce the next day. Ethan had no way to defend himself, so the process was quick. As for Olivia, I’ve erased her from my life.
Revenge isn’t always the right answer, but in this case, it gave me the strength to move on. Now, I’m focusing on myself, building a better life, and finding true happiness.
To Ethan and Olivia, all I can say is: Enjoy the mess you made.
