My boyfriend is 42 years older than me – our relationship started when he delivered me a kebab

An 18-year-old has shared how she met her boyfriend, who is 42 years older than her.

Nikeisha Lightfoot first met Dimitrios Fotis, 60, in 2022 when he delivered her kebab to her door. The couple, from Great Yarmouth, say they felt an instant connection, and their relationship has grown stronger over time.

Despite facing criticism because of their age gap, they remain confident in their relationship and don’t let negative comments affect them. Nikeisha, who is an entrepreneur, believes that love isn’t defined by age.

She says their relationship is based on a real connection, and there is nothing more to it. She explains that they spent time getting to know each other and found they had a lot in common.

Their story began when Dimitrios, who also works as a personal trainer, was delivering food. Nikeisha was working two jobs—one as a cleaner and another in a Chinese restaurant—so she often ordered food late at night.

Since she lived on the top floor and had younger siblings at home, she would leave a note asking Dimitrios to call her when he arrived. This became a routine, and soon, they started noticing each other more outside of deliveries.

Over time, they would run into each other on the street and exchange greetings. One evening, Nikeisha wasn’t feeling well and went to the local shop in her pyjamas. Dimitrios, who was waiting nearby for a delivery, asked if she was okay and suggested she make lemon tea to feel better.

Later, Nikeisha forgot the recipe he mentioned, so she texted him to ask again. That conversation led to more, and they eventually moved to chatting on WhatsApp.

They later went on a trip to spend more time together, and now, two years later, they say they are best friends who enjoy life together.

Many people in the comments of Nikeisha’s TikTok video supported the couple, calling their relationship genuine and sweet. Some shared their own experiences of age-gap relationships, while others simply wished them well.
