Over the years, Julia Roberts has been in relationships with well-known celebrities. But it wasn’t until 2002 that she met the person she would spend her life with. Her marriage to Daniel Moder started with challenges, but the couple has built a strong bond over time.
Roberts and Moder met in 2000 while working on the movie The Mexican. At the time, Moder was married to Vera Steimberg. There was speculation that Roberts played a role in their separation, but she denied being the reason for their divorce.

Before marrying Moder, Roberts had dated several actors. She was engaged to Kiefer Sutherland, but they broke up just days before their wedding. She was also in relationships with Dylan McDermott, Matthew Perry, Jason Patric, and Liam Neeson. In 1993, she married country singer Lyle Lovett, but their marriage ended in 1995. Right before meeting Moder, Roberts was linked to Benjamin Bratt.
Despite the early drama, Roberts and Moder have now been together for more than 20 years. They share three children—twins Phinnaeus and Hazel and their son Henry.
Roberts usually keeps her personal life private, but in 2018, she spoke about her marriage on Gwyneth Paltrow’s GOOP podcast. She described meeting Moder as a major turning point in her life.
“Meeting Danny and marrying him changed my life in the best way,” she said. “To this day, he is my favorite person. I love hearing his thoughts more than anyone else’s.”
She also talked about how marriage involves taking chances. “When you’re young, you fall in love and think about marriage, kids, and building a life together. But you don’t know the little things—like if you’ll like the same couch or agree on towels.”
Roberts believes their strong connection helps them navigate life together. She added, “He’s the best decision I’ve ever made.”
In 2020, a source close to the couple said, “Julia and Danny still have strong chemistry. They are committed to making their marriage work for the long run.”
