I’m a trans Barbie and my boyfriend isn’t gay – we’re going to have a family together

A former scaffolder is preparing to marry his transgender fiancée as they plan their wedding soon.

David and his fiancée Ayla, from Skye, Scotland, first connected on Instagram in 2022. They quickly grew close and decided to move in together just six months after they started talking online.

David knew Ayla was transgender before he messaged her, but he said that has never been an issue for him. Despite receiving comments from others, he explained that he has always seen her as a woman.

“It was never a big deal to me. I only see her as a woman, and that’s it,” he said in an interview with Truly Love Don’t Judge.

“Did I ever think I would date a transgender person? No, but a woman is a woman to me. No one has ever called me anything else, not to my face anyway.”

Ayla admitted that sometimes she worries David might change his mind about their relationship.

David, however, is confident about their future together. He hopes they will settle down and have children. He also quit his scaffolding job to work with Ayla in her online content business.

“She used to create solo content, and now we do it together. It gives us more time and flexibility,” he said.

Ayla, who describes herself as a “trans Barbie,” recently underwent breast enhancement surgery. She briefly paused content creation but resumed after the procedure.

“I always wanted a Barbie-like look, and I was so excited about it,” she said.

She added that transitioning was essential for her well-being and did not change who she is.

Despite criticism from strangers and even her own family, Ayla remains happy in her relationship.

“I was excited to be in a normal relationship, but my family was not as supportive,” she said.

David’s family, however, was accepting of their relationship. He said he has never received negative comments from them.

Another couple, Jesse and Cassidy from Florida, also shared their journey. Jesse had traditional views on relationships but changed his perspective after meeting Cassidy online.

He now speaks out for others in similar relationships, saying “Love has no boundaries, and anyone can love whoever they want.”
