Husband refuses to leave his wife after terrible fire destroys her face – shows the true meaning of love

Six years ago in Australia, Turia Pitt, a 27-year-old former model, was competing in an ultramarathon when she was caught in a bushfire. The fire caused severe burns to over 64% of her body. Doctors were unsure if she would survive.

Her partner, Michael Hoskin, a police officer at the time, left his job to take care of her. He supported her through it all, even when he felt helpless.

Turia has since undergone 200 medical procedures. She lost seven fingers and spent over two years recovering. In an interview, she recalled the terrifying experience: “I remember seeing bits of my skin stuck to the rocks and spinifex,” she said, describing the panic she felt during the incident.

In the midst of her recovery, Michael bought her a diamond ring. He proposed to her in 2015 while she was still in intensive care. The couple was on vacation in the Maldives when he popped the question.

For the first two years, Turia had to wear a mask to cover her face. She slowly started recovering, and every day, Michael told her, “You’re beautiful.” In 2016, they got married.

Turia expressed her gratitude to Michael for standing by her side. “Every day I wake up beside Michael is a great day,” she told the Daily Mail. “He’s a good guy, and I’m very lucky to have him.”

Despite the challenges, they both worked hard to rebuild their lives. They didn’t want sympathy; they just wanted to move on. Michael described her as “beautiful” and “amazing.”

In 2017, Turia announced she was pregnant with their first child. She kept fit during her pregnancy, despite not being able to run marathons. On December 7, 2017, they welcomed their son, Hakavai. In 2020, they had their second son, Rahiti.

Now, the couple is happy, raising their children together. Their story shows that love can overcome any challenge.
