Musk has been balancing his political role with his position as Tesla’s CEO. On Tuesday, when Trump signed an executive order that expanded DOGE’s power, Musk was seen standing by his side, smiling. The moment grabbed a lot of attention, especially because of little X’s presence at the event.
The topic was even discussed on The View, where Whoopi Goldberg mentioned Musk bringing his son to the press conference. Co-host Joy Behar seemed surprised, asking, “X?” before joking about unusual names. Goldberg then made a comment about how the child’s name is similar to Musk’s social media platform, X (formerly Twitter).
Meanwhile, Grimes said she had no idea her son would be at the event. She only found out through a post on X. One user praised her child’s manners, saying, “Lil X was very polite today!” But Grimes was not pleased. She responded, “He should not be in public like this. I did not see this, thank u for alerting me.”
Many people criticized Musk for bringing his child to the event. Some accused him of using X as a PR move to appear more relatable. Others claimed the child was a distraction for reporters so Musk could avoid tough questions.
Grimes has tried to distance herself from Musk since their split in 2022. After Musk made a controversial one-armed gesture at Trump’s inauguration, she refused to comment, saying, “I am not him. I will not make a statement every time he does something.”
The former couple shares three children: X Æ A-Xii (4), Exa Dark Sideræl (3), and Techno Mechanicus (2). The younger two were born via surrogacy.
Grimes has made it clear she is focused on her children’s well-being rather than media attention. She stated, “I could speak out and get attention, but it would not help. I choose my children first.”
