Unexpected Lesson at the Zoo

When a male and female animal are together, it’s likely they’ll interact in natural ways.

That’s exactly what happened when visitors watched a large silverback showing interest in a smaller female gorilla.

“Poquito [little],” one person commented about the female.

After circling around a support beam, the male moved forward and mounted the female.

“Okay, no, no, no! I’ve seen too much,” a child quickly reacted, realizing what was happening.

The Crowd Reacts

“Are they having babies?” another child asked. “Oh wow, I’ve never seen this happen in real life.”

As the large gorilla continued, a curious young gorilla watched from a distance before moving in for a closer look.

“The little one is coming closer,” a woman noted. “He’s watching everything!”

A younger voice in the crowd reacted with an “Oh no.”

The woman then explained to her group, “I don’t know if you knew, but this is how babies are made.” The child responded, “I know…”

A Closer Look

The young gorilla then reached out and placed its hand on the male’s back while he continued.

Soon after, the large gorilla finished and walked away while the little one observed the tired female slowly getting up.

“She can’t even walk,” the woman joked as the female moved toward a small shelter.

Online Reactions

Many online viewers found the situation amusing.

One person commented, “That little one checked everything… even patted his back like, ‘Yep, you’re doing it right!’”

Another joked, “Mom: This is how you were made. Child: Yeah, I know.”

A third added, “The big guy just got up and left after. You could tell she wanted to cuddle.”

Some found it interesting to watch animals act naturally. “It’s part of life. They don’t care who’s watching, but we do. That’s the funny part.”
