A woman who loved fast food has lost five stone after giving up her £100-a-week takeaway habit.
Jen Hinde, 35, avoided looking in the mirror because she felt she looked too big. She struggled with Fibromyalgia, a condition that causes body pain and stiffness, making exercise difficult.

At her heaviest, Jen weighed 18st 5lb. Doctors warned her that she was at risk of needing a liver transplant if she didn’t make changes.
Realizing how serious her health was, Jen decided to stop ordering takeaways and started cooking healthy meals at home.

Now, Jen weighs 12st 10lb and feels much more confident. “I go swimming more now because I finally feel comfortable in a swimsuit,” she said.
“I never used to take photos, and if I did, I would never post them. But now, I post loads because I feel proud of myself.”

Jen, who is a mum to Lucy, 12, used to order takeaways when she was in pain. Looking back, she admits she was using it as an excuse not to cook. Now, she batch-cooks meals on pain-free days and freezes them for later.
She also keeps Slimming World ready meals in the freezer for days when she isn’t able to cook.
“I looked at my Just Eat account, and there were 50 pages of orders—almost every other day.”

She often ordered large pizzas with stuffed crusts and lots of sauce, with Pizza Hut as her favorite.
Jen joined Slimming World last year after doctors diagnosed her with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease at the fibrosis stage. But after a year of weight loss, her health improved.

At her check-up this year, the nurse was emotional when she told Jen that her liver was back to normal.
“The nurse had tears in her eyes and told me it’s rare to give such good news.”

Jen was thrilled, especially because her nan was there to hear it too.
“This was why I joined Slimming World. I did it for my health, not just to look better.”
