Delta Air Lines Crash Survivor Shares Upside Down Photo After Toronto Crash Landing

Delta Air Lines Flight 4819 had a rough landing at Toronto Pearson Airport. The flight came from Minneapolis, carrying 80 people, including 76 passengers and four crew members.

Although all passengers survived, 18 people needed medical attention. Passenger John Nelson shared his experience, saying the plane hit the ground hard, went sideways, and then flipped over.

Passengers found themselves trapped upside down, unable to release their seatbelts right away. A strong smell of jet fuel filled the cabin, making evacuation urgent. Emergency teams arrived quickly, ensuring that everyone got out safely despite the confusion.

Fire Chief Todd Aitken confirmed 18 injuries, including an elderly man, two people in their forties, and a child in critical but stable condition. Medical teams worked fast, preventing more serious health issues.

The accident temporarily halted airport operations. Flights were redirected to Montréal-Trudeau and Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier airports while experts assessed the damaged runways.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is working with the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board to investigate. Early evidence suggests strong winds and leftover snow affected the landing. Investigators are reviewing flight records, pilot communications, and maintenance reports to understand what happened.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian praised his team and first responders for their quick action. He assured that Delta is fully cooperating with authorities to prevent future incidents.

Many passengers shared their emergency landing experiences online, with people recognizing the crew’s professionalism and the emergency teams’ efficiency.

Delta is also offering counseling support to those affected. Aviation experts are closely following the investigation to improve flight safety standards.

This accident shows how important strong safety measures are in air travel. One survivor even managed to take a photo from inside the flipped plane, giving a clear image of what passengers went through. This event highlights the strength and determination of those who faced the unexpected crash.
