Cybertruck Owner Reveals The Shocking Cost Of A Full Charge, And People Are Stunned

David Nguyen recently shared a video on Instagram showing how much it costs to charge his Tesla Cybertruck, and people had a lot to say about it.

The Cybertruck has been getting more attention as more of them hit the road. While some people admire its futuristic look, others have raised concerns about its performance. There have been reports of the truck struggling in heavy snow and even an owner calling it a “mistake” after a crash using the self-driving feature.

Even with these discussions, many still see the Cybertruck as a major step forward in vehicle technology. However, electric vehicles are usually more expensive upfront, making buyers think carefully before making the switch.

One of the biggest reasons people choose electric vehicles is the promise of lower costs over time. But Nguyen’s experience suggests that might not always be the case with the Cybertruck.

In his video, Nguyen recorded the moment his truck’s battery dropped to just three percent. He then showed how he had to tap the charger on the truck a few times before the charging port finally opened. Once he plugged it in, he checked how long a full charge would take.

The result? One hour and 30 minutes to reach 100 percent, which equals a total driving range of 296 miles. But the real question was—how much would this charge cost?

Since he was charging in San Leandro, California, where electricity costs $0.61 per kWh, Nguyen did the math. His truck needed 121 kWh to fully charge, bringing the total cost to $73. He then asked his viewers, “Is that good? Or not good?”

Not everyone was convinced. One commenter was shocked by the price, saying, “$70? I thought electric was cheaper.” Another compared it to their gas-powered truck, saying they could get almost 600 miles for $80 and fill up in minutes. Others questioned whether the long charging time was worth it.

The conversation continues, with some defending the Cybertruck and others doubting its benefits.
