Chester Bennington’s Child Draven, 22, Comes Out As Transgender In An Emotional Statement

Draven Bennington recently shared a deeply personal message on Instagram.

Draven, the child of late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, made an announcement about her transition.

She is the only child from Chester’s first marriage to Samantha Olit. The couple married in 1996 but later divorced in 2005.

On February 14, Draven posted an emotional letter to her followers, revealing that she had publicly come out as transgender the previous year.

“As today is about celebrating love—whether for a partner, family, or ourselves—I thought it was the perfect time to show love to myself,” she wrote.

She explained that for years, she tried to be someone she wasn’t. At a certain point, she could no longer ignore it.

“In August of last year, I chose happiness. I came out as transgender and started hormone therapy. It was the best decision I’ve ever made.”

She also shared gratitude for those who have supported her.

“I feel very lucky to do this and to have such supportive family and friends. I love each of you for accepting me for who I truly am.

She gave a special shoutout to her mother.

“Mom, you have always loved me unconditionally. I’m so blessed to be your child. I love you to the moon and back!

Draven also responded to comments, saying she decided to keep her name because it already felt right to her. She also thanked her mom for picking it.

Samantha showed her support by commenting: “I’m so proud of you. I love you with all my heart. I just want you happy and healthy forever.”

Many followers sent kind messages, celebrating Draven’s journey.

One person wrote: “Never stop loving yourself. Much love and warmth.” Another added: “It takes courage to be yourself. You deserve love and acceptance.”

Draven has also spoken about her father’s impact. In a 2023 interview, she shared how much it means when fans tell her his music changed their lives.
