Bride viciously trolled for marrying wife who looks like a ’10-year-old’ shares her new fear

Lauren Evens, 31, and Hannah Kaye, 29, were thrilled to announce in October that they’re expecting triplets. They married in September at their local registry office, but since sharing their news, they’ve faced harsh online criticism.

Many trolls have made hurtful comments about their relationship, with Lauren falsely accused of being a pedophile because her wife looks so young. “Some people think I married a schoolboy and that I’m having his children. It’s ridiculous,” Lauren said, adding that the online abuse will likely get worse as she’s now pregnant.

The couple’s pregnancy journey started after they decided to try IVF to expand their family. The couple used Hannah’s eggs and a sperm donor, with Lauren carrying the babies. They spent $11,300 on reciprocal IVF, a treatment available to same-sex couples, where one partner provides the eggs, and the other carries the pregnancy. They chose to undergo the treatment in Cyprus because it was more affordable than in the UK.

In January 2024, they began their IVF journey, and after retrieving three embryos, the couple learned they had a 75% chance that one would stick. To their delight, all three embryos implanted successfully. “It was a miracle,” Lauren said. “We didn’t expect all three to stay.”

Despite the excitement, the couple faces risks with a high-risk pregnancy, especially when carrying triplets. Lauren is under strict observation, knowing that there’s a higher chance of premature birth or losing one of the babies. “Reaching the three-month mark with all babies developing well is another miracle,” she said.

The couple first met on Tinder two years ago, and Hannah proposed in January 2024. After their wedding in September, they received a flood of negative comments. Some trolls even mocked Lauren’s 10-year-old son, saying things like “I thought she married a child” and “Is he old enough to get married?”
