At 76, Glenn Close looks natural and makeup-free, and she can’t stop swooning over her daughter, who looks just like her

After more than 40 years in the industry, Glenn Close is still going strong at 76. On her birthday, the well-known actress confidently shared a makeup-free photo, saying she still sees the world “through the eyes of a 20-year-old.”

A day before turning a year older on March 18, Close posted a video on Instagram where she appeared with her natural short white hair, wearing no makeup. Fans know her for playing Cruella de Vil in Disney’s live-action 101 Dalmatians (1996) and 102 Dalmatians (2000). In the video, she talked about her health, her recent activities, and even mentioned the painting behind her, which was of Elizabeth.

Speaking from her New York home, Close shared her joy at being back with her dog after a busy period. She had also gone through isolation due to a Covid diagnosis, which forced her to miss the 2023 Oscars, where she was set to present an award with Harrison Ford.

The actress also gave an update about her upcoming work. She will soon appear in Netflix’s Back in Action, a comedy-action movie starring Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz.

Fans flooded her post with positive messages. “I look forward to your next projects. Your work is amazing and always uplifting,” a Scottish fan commented.

Another fan recalled Close’s early stage performances. “We loved seeing your incredible talent in the theatre. Thank you!”

Close first appeared on Broadway in 1974 as Anjelica in Love for Love. She later showcased her strong vocals in Sunset Boulevard (1994), where she played Norma Desmond, a role she revisited in 2017.

Her big break in film came when director George Roy Hill cast her in The World According to Garp (1982). She played Robin Williams’ mother, despite being only four years older than him. This role earned her the first of her eight Oscar nominations, but she has never won.

She later received nominations for The Big Chill (1983), The Natural (1984), Fatal Attraction (1987), and Dangerous Liaisons (1988). Despite not winning an Oscar, she has won three Golden Globes, three Tony Awards, and three Primetime Emmys.

Her performances in Albert Nobbs (2011) and The Wife (2017) earned her more Academy Award nominations. In The Wife, she starred alongside her daughter Annie Starke, her only child with producer John Starke. Annie also played a younger version of her mother’s character in Father Figures.
