Baldwin’s life has been widely covered in the media, and now his reality TV show, The Baldwins, gives a closer look at his family.

In a recent episode, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin talked about their early relationship, focusing on their decision to sign a prenup before their wedding in 2012.
For those unfamiliar, a prenup is a legal agreement made before marriage that outlines how assets would be split if the couple divorces.

During the episode that aired on February 23, Baldwin mentioned his first marriage to Kim Basinger, which lasted from 1993 to 2002. Because of that experience, he wanted a prenup this time.
“After my first marriage, I said, ‘Let’s have a prenup,’” Baldwin recalled.
Hilaria admitted she didn’t fully understand the document at the time and signed it without much thought.

“I just didn’t quite understand what a prenup was,” she said.
She also shared that she didn’t take the time to read the terms carefully.
“You were like, ‘After a certain number of kids, it’s this.’ And I was like, ‘You know what? I’ll just sign it.’ Which was probably very stupid of me back then.”

Looking back, she said she would have taken a different approach.
“Now, I would read it again. I didn’t want to think about the end at the beginning.”
The couple’s reality show also covers the 2021 shooting incident on the set of Rust, which led to the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Baldwin was charged with involuntary manslaughter since he was holding the gun at the time, but he has always insisted he didn’t pull the trigger. The charges against him were dropped in July 2023.

The actor shared that his family’s support helped him get through the difficult time, and he acknowledged how hard the situation was for his wife.
“I always feel more in pain about you than me,” Baldwin told Hilaria. “I think about what this has done to you and how much it’s hurt you.”
Their reality show continues to follow their family life as they navigate these challenges together.
