Adult Film Star Julia Ann Explains Why She Won’t Film Scenes With Men Anymore

Julia, now 52, has had a career spanning over 30 years in the adult industry. Despite working with countless co-stars, she recently decided to stop filming “boy-girl” scenes.

Speaking on the Unfiltered podcast hosted by Holly Randall, a respected figure in the adult film world, Julia explained her choice and addressed assumptions about her decision.

She clarified that her decision wasn’t influenced by her marriage, though it aligned with the timing.

“People thought it was because I got married,” Julia said. “But that wasn’t it at all. My husband never made it an issue.” Instead, she explained that her marriage gave her a convenient moment to shift her career focus.

“It felt symbolic—like, from now on, it’ll just be us—but that wasn’t the main reason,” she added.

The real reason, she revealed, was rooted in her feelings about her body.

As she aged, Julia felt less comfortable filming scenes with men. “I hate the gym,” she admitted, adding, “I couldn’t control how my body looked in those scenes.”

She explained that working with women allowed her to position herself in ways that felt flattering. “I can work it, pose better, and adjust how I look. But with a guy, it’s out of my control,” she shared.

“When a guy’s behind you, it’s just ‘doink doink doink,’ and I could feel everything moving. I hated it,” Julia said.

She spoke candidly about the changes in her body after menopause.

“Your body moves differently after menopause,” she explained. “Things don’t stay firm or move together—it’s like a ricochet effect.”

Julia admitted she felt “incredibly insecure” and “scared” of how her body was changing.

“I didn’t want anyone to use that against me as I age,” she said, making it clear that stepping away from those scenes was her way of taking control.

Her honesty has sparked conversations about body image and confidence, especially as people age.
