Adorable ice skating couple from Delaware are among youngest child victims of plane crash horror

Two of the youngest victims of the Washington, DC, airplane crash have been identified as a rising youth ice skating duo.

Angela Yang and Sean Kay, who competed in youth ice dance, were on the American Airlines flight returning from the US Figure Skating Championships and National Development Camp in Wichita, Kansas. They were traveling with their coach, Alexandr Kirsanov, according to the Delaware News Journal.

The crash took their lives, along with their coach, Kirsanov. His wife confirmed the heartbreaking news to local reporters.

Just days before, Kay had shared his excitement about making it to the National Development Camp. “I am so happy to have qualified,” he posted on Instagram last Wednesday. He explained that it had been a long-time goal and that he had learned a lot from the experience. He also mentioned meeting many amazing people.

In his final post, he shared a photo from inside the plane, taken just before departure from Wichita.

The crash resulted in the loss of all 60 passengers and four crew members on the American Airlines jet, along with three soldiers aboard a Black Hawk helicopter that was on a training flight.

Authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the accident. However, officials confirmed that weather conditions were clear at the time. The plane from Wichita was making a routine landing when the military helicopter crossed into its path.

The investigation is still ongoing as experts work to understand what went wrong.
