A six-year-old boy who went missing was found dead along with his father in Michigan. Police are investigating the case as a possible murder-suicide.
The child’s mother called police on Monday, August 19, after the boy’s father did not return him on time. A search began, but two days later, the worst outcome was confirmed.

That evening, Michigan’s Isabella County Sheriff’s Office received the report from the mother. She said her six-year-old son had not been returned that morning as planned.
While she shared pictures of her son on Facebook, officers searched for the boy and his father, Michael Steven Winchell.
For the next 24 hours, police continued looking for them but found no sign of Winchell or his son, Rowan Milford Morey.
Detectives contacted a relative of Winchell, but even they could not reach the 48-year-old father.
By August 21, family members joined the search at Winchell’s property. During their search, they found an isolated camper at the back of the property.

Someone broke a window and saw Winchell inside, unresponsive. When police entered the camper, they found both Winchell and Rowan had passed away.
The case is still under investigation, but initial reports suggest Winchell may have harmed his son before harming himself.
Rowan’s mother later shared on Facebook, “Thank you for sending your prayers for a safe return. Unfortunately, our fears were confirmed, and Rowan has been found but is no longer with us.”
