Katy Bampton, a former nursery worker from North Wales, had no idea how much her life would change after moving to Australia in 2020. She was babysitting for a middle-class couple when they invited her to a private party.
At first, it seemed like a normal night out, but as the evening progressed, Katy realized it was a swingers’ party. She had never been to one before, but curiosity took over. Under the influence of alcohol and MDMA, she felt relaxed and joined in. The couples were experienced, and everything was organized, with safety precautions in place.
After that night, Katy continued working as a nanny for the couple but was never invited to another party. However, months later, one of the women invited her to a private gathering for her husband’s birthday. This time, it was a small group, and no drugs were involved. Katy joined them willingly, without feeling pressured.
Her journey continued when she met Rob, an adult model, at a social club. They connected instantly, and together, they organized a large swingers’ event for 140 people. The parties followed strict rules and ended with everyone relaxing together, often ordering food.
Over time, Katy started feeling different. She noticed that many people relied on substances like MDMA to feel confident. She attended fewer parties and started experiencing them sober. Without drugs, she realized how short-lived the excitement was.
She also saw that many women used substances to escape personal struggles. It made her reflect on her own experiences and how she had once felt disconnected from herself.
By 2023, Katy moved to Thailand with Rob but soon realized she no longer wanted this lifestyle. She attended a wellness retreat and decided to take a new path.
Now, she has created the ‘School of Sensuality’ to help women feel comfortable with their bodies in a natural way. She hopes to teach others that confidence doesn’t have to come from substances. Looking ahead, she plans to share her message with more people, possibly returning to the UK to expand her work.
