This reflects the idea that sexuality is not fixed but exists on a spectrum, allowing for different attractions at different times.
Healthline adds that abrosexuality isn’t about changing labels on a whim. It’s about a genuine evolution in how someone experiences their sexuality over time.
Emma Flint, an abrosexual writer, shared her journey in Metro, describing how her feelings could shift dramatically. “One day, I felt like I was a lesbian, and later I’d feel more aligned with bisexuality. My sexuality was fluid,” she said. Before discovering the term, she felt lost and even doubted herself when discussing her orientation with others.

Although the term isn’t new, awareness of abrosexuality is increasing. In 2021, Michelle Visage, a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, shared the abrosexual pride flag on Instagram. The flag, featuring green, white, and pink stripes, was created on Tumblr in 2013.
As more people share their stories, the discussion around abrosexuality continues to grow, highlighting the importance of understanding and accepting diverse sexual identities.
