Woman Names Her Daughter After A Disney Character: ‘I Don’t Care If People Hate It’

The trend of baby naming has changed a lot recently.

Traditional names like John, Mary, William, and Elizabeth are becoming less common, replaced by unique and creative choices. Parents today prefer names that stand out and express individuality.

For one mother, this choice led to criticism, and she had to defend her decision.

Australian influencer Indy Clinton originally planned to name her second child Paloma. However, she ended up choosing something entirely different.

Some people loved the name, but others thought it might lead to the child being teased. One person said, “Imagine being an adult with that name.”

Another commented, “Are you naming humans or pets?”

Some warned that a unique name connected to a famous character could cause issues, especially in school.

Supporters defended Clinton’s choice. One person said, “She can name her baby whatever she wants. It’s a lovely name.”

Clinton named her daughter Bambi, after the character from the 1942 Disney movie.

She explained that her daughter’s sweet nature and big brown eyes reminded her of the cartoon deer. Initially, they were set on Paloma, but after reading the Bambi story to her son one night, she changed her mind.

Clinton doesn’t mind the criticism, saying, “Unique names are the new trend, and people will always have opinions.”

She added, “She couldn’t be Paloma now – she’s my Bambi.”

Clinton isn’t the only one to choose this name. Former Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague also named her daughter Bambi.
