Final Moments Captured of Young South Korean Boy Before Plane Crash
A heartbreaking photo of a young South Korean boy looking out of a plane window has gone viral after a tragic incident.
The three-year-old was the youngest victim in a deadly crash at Muan International Airport that claimed the lives of 179 people. Reports say he was returning from a holiday with his parents.
The disaster occurred when a Jeju Airline plane skidded off the runway and slammed into a concrete barrier. The impact caused the aircraft to burst into flames.
The crash happened on Sunday after the landing gear failed to deploy, according to officials. Out of the 181 passengers on board, only two crew members survived—a man and a woman pulled from the wreckage.
Five of the victims were children under 10 years old, including the young boy. Most passengers were holiday travelers from South Korea heading home.
Investigators are trying to understand how a bird strike may have caused the landing gear to malfunction. They are also questioning why the pilot chose to land the plane at full speed, overshooting the runway and crashing into the airport’s concrete wall.
This tragedy has left South Korea in mourning as more details about the victims and the crash continue to emerge.
