Passenger Trapped In Airplane Bathroom For Entire Flight Gets Note From Attendant

Plane etiquette always seems to spark debates online, with travelers sharing their uncomfortable and frustrating experiences. From the dreaded middle seat struggle to someone’s flashing phone charger disturbing a six-hour flight, these stories often leave people divided.

But just when you think you’ve heard it all, an incident comes along that’s even harder to believe.

Recently, a SpiceJet flight became a nightmare for one passenger who was stuck in the bathroom for nearly the entire journey.

The incident happened on January 16 during Flight SG-268. The plane left Mumbai at 2 AM, heading to Bengaluru, as reported by the Indian Express.

It all started when a passenger in seat 14D went to the restroom shortly after takeoff. A quick bathroom trip turned into a stressful situation when the door jammed, trapping him inside.

The airline later confirmed, “A passenger unfortunately got stuck inside the lavatory for about an hour.” Despite the cabin crew and some passengers trying their best, they couldn’t get the door open.

The situation got even more difficult as the flight prepared to land at Kempegowda International Airport.

The crew tried to calm the passenger by sliding a note under the door, which has since gone viral online. The note read:

“Sir, we tried our best to open the door, however, we could not. Do not panic. We are landing in a few minutes, so please close the commode lid, sit on it, and secure yourself. As soon as the main door is open, an engineer will come. Do not panic.”

True to their word, the moment the plane landed, engineers boarded and broke the bathroom door open. The passenger was finally freed and was given immediate medical attention to help him recover from the stressful ordeal.

The incident quickly gained global media attention. The airline issued an apology, saying, “SpiceJet regrets and apologizes for the inconvenience caused to the passenger.”

As a gesture of goodwill, SpiceJet refunded the passenger in full to compensate for the uncomfortable experience.

This story proves that even a simple trip to the bathroom can sometimes take an unexpected turn.
