Elon Musk hits back after Mike Myers roasts him on SNL

Saturday Night Live (SNL) always has a knack for poking fun at current events, and on April 5, the show turned its focus to Elon Musk. As usual, the billionaire didn’t take the joke well, quickly responding on Twitter.

In the sketch, Mike Myers surprised viewers by impersonating Musk in a segment about a new Tesla model. The car had an unusual feature: it vandalized itself. Myers appeared wearing a cheesehead hat, a reference to the real-life moment Musk wore one while trying to help a Trump-backed candidate in Wisconsin. “That was from when I tried to buy the election in Wisconsin,” Myers’ Musk joked. “I’m an idiot. I should have just bought Wisconsin!” The skit introduced the fictional Tesla Model-V, a car that purposefully wrecks itself, with self-smashing headlights, slashed tires, and graffiti.

Musk, never one to shy away from sharing his thoughts, took to Twitter after the skit aired. He posted, “SNL hasn’t been funny in a long time. They are their own parody,” expressing his dissatisfaction with the show’s humor.

Not everyone enjoyed the sketch, though. One viewer criticized it for mocking Musk’s autism, which he had openly shared during his 2021 SNL appearance. Others voiced their support for Musk, calling the sketch mean-spirited. On the flip side, some SNL fans took pleasure in the joke, posting cheeky comments and memes at Musk’s expense.

It looks like this won’t be the last time Mike Myers takes aim at Musk, especially given his role in the Trump administration and the ongoing public drama surrounding the billionaire.
