A Rising Star Born in 1965 in Rockledge, Florida, Tammy stood out from an early age. She began competing in beauty pageants at four years old and won the majority of them. By her teenage years, she had participated in over 300 contests, winning around 280. In 1978, she appeared on the cover of CoverGirl magazine, marking another step toward stardom.
Tammy loved the spotlight. She once said she enjoyed dressing up and performing in front of people. Her mother, Linda Curtis, supported her ambitions and took pride in her achievements.
Aiming for Hollywood Tammy’s first acting role was in Little Darlings (1980). She soon became known as a rising talent in Florida. She dreamed of winning an Academy Award and meeting famous actors. Her big break came in Scarface, where she played a minor but memorable role. She also appeared in Spring Break (1983), and her image was used in promotional materials for the film.
A Sudden Change After attending a party in early 1983, Tammy’s behavior changed drastically. She became paranoid and feared for her safety. She also had a distressing experience on the set of Scarface while watching a violent scene, leading her to leave the production. Concerned, her mother took her to the police and later admitted her for medical observation. However, tests found no signs of drug use.
The Disappearance On July 6, 1983, Tammy left home, saying, “Bye Mommy, I’ll see you in a little bit.” A friend drove her to the beach, but after an argument, she asked to be dropped off. That was the last confirmed sighting of her.
