In a surprising moment that amazed parents and doctors, a mother from Pennsylvania captured her newborn doing something unexpected for her age.
Samantha Mitchell, 34, recorded her baby, Nyilah Daise Tzabari, crawling and lifting her head at just three days old. “I’ve worked with kids for over 20 years, and I’ve never seen anything like this,” Mitchell told Kennedy News.
The video was taken on March 2, 2023, just days after Nyilah was born. She arrived three weeks late, at 43 weeks, and weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces. Mitchell said her mom noticed the early crawling and encouraged her to film it.
“This wasn’t just a one-time thing,” Mitchell said. “Her strength has been incredible since day one.”
And Nyilah didn’t stop there. At 18 days old, she was rolling over from her belly to her back. By two months, she could roll from her back to her belly. Now, at just three months old, she can stand with support. Mitchell believes walking is not far off.
“She doesn’t like to sit,” Mitchell explained. “We’re not making her stand, but she keeps her knees straight and won’t bend them. She’s so determined.”
Nyilah’s abilities aren’t just physical. At six weeks old, she started mimicking sounds, even trying to say short phrases like “I love you.”
“She babbles back at us,” Mitchell said. “If we laugh, she makes sounds to make us laugh again.”
Mitchell says her baby’s progress is unlike anything she’s seen. With Nyilah reaching milestones early, she’s excited to see what comes next. “She amazes us every day,” Mitchell added.
