27-Year-Old Mother and Her Four Children Tragically Die While Traveling to Meet Her Husband – Details

Over the weekend, a tragic accident claimed the lives of a mother and her four children. The crash occurred on April 6, 2025, on I-95 in McIntosh County, Georgia. A high-speed collision between two vehicles left five people dead, including Reagan Dougan, 27, and her children, ages 9, 4, 2, and 3 months.

The family was on their way to Florida to meet Reagan’s husband, Christian Dougan. The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) reported that the rental Jeep Cherokee SUV was traveling at high speed when it hit the back of a sedan. The SUV struck a guardrail before bursting into flames. Reagan and her children were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the sedan was hospitalized with injuries.

The accident led to a four-hour closure of I-95 as investigators worked at the scene. The GSP noted that the details were preliminary, as the crash investigation was still ongoing. The tragedy has left the community heartbroken, with many remembering Reagan as a devoted mother. Neighbors recalled her warmth and generosity, especially when she helped others during difficult times, like after Hurricane Milton in 2024.

Reagan’s neighbors described the Dougan family as loving and joyful. Christopher “Jonesy” Butler-Jones, a neighbor, remembered Reagan fondly, saying, “She was very dedicated. Her kids were everything to her.” Another neighbor, Jason Flores, shared how they would often wave at each other, and how the family’s presence always brought smiles and joy to the neighborhood.

Following the accident, a GoFundMe account was created to support Christian Dougan. As of the latest update, the fundraiser had raised over $26,000 toward the goal of $35,000 to help with funeral expenses and moving the family to their final resting place in Florida.

In the wake of this heartbreaking loss, tributes poured in from family and friends. Reagan’s friend, Cecily Corinne Borquez, posted a childhood photo of them together, expressing her disbelief and sorrow. The community continues to mourn the loss of this loving family and remembers their legacy with fondness.
